Connecting your partner's virtual data room (VDR) with Prudentia Sciences

Before you can run an Assessment in Prudentia that points to a Virtual Data Room (VDR), the partner company who owns the data package needs to grant Prudentia access to their third-party VDR. This article explains how that process works, how to approach the conversation with the partner, and what resources are available to help address their questions about data security and confidentiality.

Why VDR access matters

An Assessment that is used during the due diligence process is typically powered by the partner company's full data package. When the partner grants Prudentia download access to their VDR, your team can run a deeper, more rigorous analysis. Prudentia automatically ingests, sorts, and analyzes documents from the connected data room during the Prism assessment. 

How to initiate the conversation

Requesting VDR access is a standard step in the Prudentia assessment workflow, but it requires a direct conversation with the partner company, typically their business development lead or the person administering the data room. The request is to gran Prudentia Sciences download access to the relevant folders in their VDR.

Partnering companies will often have questions about what that access means: who can see their data, how it is protected, and how it is processed during the Assessment workflow. What the partnering company needs to know

The most common questions and answers are covered below.

Who can see their data?
Only the specific Prudentia Sciences customer (your organization) that has been granted access to the data room can view their content within the platform. No other party, including other Prudentia customers, can see it. Each customer operates in a fully isolated, logically separated environment with no commingling of data.
 
Will their data be used to train AI?
No. Documents ingested into Prudentia are never used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model - Prudentia's or anyone else's. The analytical models operating within a customer instance are scoped solely to that customer and do not reference data from other environments.
 
Do their existing VDR permissions still apply?
Yes. Prudentia mirrors the access controls already established in the target's VDR. Download restrictions, view-only settings, and other permission configurations are respected and enforced within the Prudentia environment. If a document is view-only in the data room, it remains view-only in Prudentia.
 
Can they revoke access?
Yes, at any time. The target company can revoke Prudentia's access through their VDR provider whenever they choose. Changes to permissions are reflected in the Prudentia integration immediately.
 
Can their data be extracted or forwarded?
No. Data integrated into Prudentia cannot be extracted, forwarded, or shared beyond the authorized customer instance. Documents can be viewed within the platform but cannot be downloaded by Prudentia users.

 

Prudentia's security architecture

For partners that want to understand the technical underpinnings, Prudentia's platform is built on three pillars of information security applied at every stage of the data lifecycle:

Confidentiality. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Access is governed by role-based controls enforced at the infrastructure level. All data processing occurs within isolated customer environments.

Integrity. Checksums and validation processes ensure documents are not altered during integration. Audit logs track all access and activity, providing a verifiable chain of custody for the data.

Availability. Infrastructure is designed with redundancy and failover capabilities. Data remains accessible to authorized users when they need it.
